Biography
Hailing from Melbourne, Ocean Grove emerged in 2010 as an Australian progressive/experimental metal/post-hardcore group that balances melody against raw force. The lineup centered on Luke Holmes handling vocals, Jimmy Hall and Matt Henley on guitar, Dale Tanner on bass, and Sam Bassal behind the drums. Their self-described "odd world music" first surfaced in 2013 with the independent Outsider EP. Black Label, the follow-up EP, came out in 2015 and received a 2016 reissue on Melbourne's UNFD label that incorporated the single "Lights on Kind of Lover," the act's breakthrough track. Early 2017 saw the release of their long-awaited debut album, The Rhapsody Tapes.
