Originating from Los Angeles, metalcore outfit Bad Omens specializes in crushing breakdowns alongside soaring choruses that echo peers such as Bring Me the Horizon and Periphery. Their self-titled debut from 2016 reached Billboard's rock and independent album rankings, a placement matched by 2019's Finding God Before God Finds Me. The band's high-contrast third full-length, The Death of Peace of Mind, emerged in 2022 after drawing inspiration from pandemic conditions and was succeeded by an accompanying comic-book series plus the 2024 soundtrack album Concrete Jungle.

The project began in 2013 when vocalist Noah Sebastian circulated several solo recordings and later recruited longtime associates Nicholas Ryan on guitar and Nick Ruffilo on bass. Guitarist Joakim "Jolly" Karlsson, already a friend of Ruffilo's, came aboard next, while drummer Nick Folio joined after forwarding audition material online. Sumerian Records responded favorably to the songcraft on those early demos and offered the group a contract in 2015.

Rapid audience growth followed the release of tracks such as "Exit Wounds" and "The Worst in Me." Rooted in one of Sebastian's turbulent relationships yet described as "universal to all bad habits," the 2016 debut entered Billboard's rock, hard rock, independent, and Heatseekers charts. Finding God Before God Finds Me returned the band to those same rankings, peaking at number seven on the hard-rock list. Its singles "Limits" and "Never Know" maintained Bad Omens inside the Top 30 of the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart across multiple months in 2020 and 2021.

After an involuntary touring hiatus triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, the ensemble resurfaced in 2022 with the bold and unyielding The Death of Peace of Mind, which attained number 11 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart and led the Heatseekers ranking. Alongside that album, Bad Omens collaborated with comic creators Kevin Roditeli and Nicola Izzo on Concrete Jungle, issued via Sumerian Comics. May 2024 brought the related soundtrack Concrete Jungle, containing fresh compositions together with reimagined cuts from The Death of Peace of Mind and guest appearances by Erra, Health, Wargasm, and Poppy, the last of whom featured on the single "V.A.N."
