Biography
The Forty-Fives, a group of rock revivalists based in Atlanta, feature Bryan Malone on guitar and vocals, Mark McMurtry on bass, Trey Tidwell on organ, and Adam Renshaw behind the drums. The quartet spent the bulk of 1999 on the road alongside kindred spirits including Link Wray, Wayne Kramer, the Dickies, Pansy Division, and Marky Ramone, then issued their first full-length, Get It Together, through Artemis Records at the start of 2000. Two years afterward, following an extensive trek across the United States, the musicians paused at Sun Studios in Memphis to assemble their next collection. Dissatisfied with what they heard, however, they reworked a substantial share of the material prior to its issuance. Fight Dirty finally appeared on Yep Roc in autumn 2002, with High Life High Volume arriving two years later.
