Biography
During the early 1970s, The Intrigues delivered funky Philly soul as a polished three-piece act. On the Yew imprint, their peak 1969 success arrived with "In a Moment," arranged and produced in polished fashion by Bobby Martin and Thom Bell, even as the B-side "Scotchman Rock" evoked earlier rock styles. Van McCoy joined as co-producer for their opulent Yew single from 1971, "The Language of Love." The group surfaced once more in 1985 via "Fly Girl" following a long hiatus from R&B listings.
