Biography
Originally hailing from Toronto, the funk-pop sextet Philosopher Kings launched with Gerald Eaton as frontman, guitarists James McCollum and Brian West, bassist Jason Levine, pianist Jon Levine, and drummer Craig Hunter rounding out the lineup. Their debut LP, issued under the band’s own name, surfaced in 1994. Three years afterward came Famous, Rich and Beautiful, the final Philosopher Kings album to feature Hunter; Denton Whited stepped in behind the kit for the live release One Night Stand that appeared in 1999.
