The Prettiots

Genre: Alt / Indie ,Indie Pop
Origin: U.S.A
Listen on Coda
New York duo the Prettiots craft sassy, no-nonsense lyrics over gently scuzzed yet highly melodic indie pop, drawing comparisons to the Moldy Peaches while their fixations on Law & Order and the film Clueless set them apart in an eccentric category all their own. Kay Kasparhauser, who handles vocals and ukulele, joined bassist Lulu Landolfi to establish the project in 2014, after which the pair performed extensively throughout New York to develop both their profile and song catalog. During a 2015 appearance at SXSW on their inaugural national tour, they secured a recording contract with Britain’s Rough Trade Records, which put out a 7" single of the wry track “Boys (That I Dated in High School)” that same summer. The band’s first full-length album, Funs Cool, arrived in February 2016.
