Biography
Close friends from school days in suburban Detroit launched the indie rock outfit the Silent Years at the start of the 2000s. They stepped away for college before reuniting to play area stages once again. Momentum built locally in Detroit, then grew wider after a strong showing at South by Southwest in 2006. Vocalist/guitarist Josh Epstein, bassist Pat Michalak, drummer Jeremy Edwards, guitarist Jonathan Edwards, and keyboardist Rosalind Christian self-issued the seven-song debut Stand Still Like the Hummingbird in early 2006. Their self-titled full-length appeared that October on the No Alternative label. The Globe arrived in 2008.
