Biography
Cleveland natives the Spudmonsters specialized in an aggressive strain of alternative/rap-metal shaped by hardcore punk. The band came together in 1989 with vocalist Don Foose, guitarists Scott Roberts and Chris Andrews, bassist Steve Swanson, and drummer Eric Matthews. Through consistent regional touring they cultivated a loyal Midwest audience and secured a deal with Germany's Massacre label in 1992. Their first full-length, Stop the Madness, appeared in 1993 and reached American listeners the next year. The follow-up Massacre release, No Guarantees, surfaced in 1995. Andrews departed the following year, after which Eric Klinger stepped in on guitar for the Spudmonsters' debut Century Media album, Moment of Truth.
