Biography
Originating in New Jersey in 1994, Fury of Five sought to rival the nearby hardcore community based in New York City and add momentum to East Coast activity. Their approach fused traditional hardcore values with metallic touches and frequent breakdowns, delivered by vocalist James, guitarists Chico and Jay, bassist Mike, and drummer Chris. Early exposure came through multiple compilations plus two 7" EPs, after which the band’s debut full-length, No Time to Smile, arrived in 1997. A European run with Integrity and a contract with Century Media Records produced At War with the World the next year under license to Victory, followed by This Time It’s Personal in early 2000.
