Biography
Merauder formed in 1990 and quickly integrated into New York’s hardcore community, which hosted numerous metal crossover outfits across the East Coast throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, including Sick of it All and Cro-Mags. After five years of live performances, the completion of several demo recordings, and the enlistment of vocalist Jorge, previously of Full Contact, the band gained notice in 1995. Recognition arrived via a split EP with Stigmata, a tour alongside Biohazard, and a recording contract with Century Media Records. Prior to the appearance of their debut album Master Killer later that year, Merauder embarked on a United States trek with Fear Factory and performed select European shows with Germany’s Bohse Onkelz. In 1998 the stabilized lineup of Sob and Anthony on guitar, Mike on bass, and Pokey on drums entered the studio to track their second album, Five Deadly Venoms, issued the following year.
