Biography
Death Threat originated in 1997 when several former Hatebreed members joined forces. Their hardcore metal style occupies a space between the raw aggression of Sick of It All and the dense, weighty attack of Napalm Death. Strong live performances quickly earned the group attention, prompting an East Coast touring campaign that built enough momentum to land a record contract. Peace & Security appeared as their debut album in 2000, after which further road work followed, including a standout run with Buried Alive. The band reentered the studio during 2001; by spring of the following year they had finished For God and Government, issued on Triple Crown Records. Scarcely had the record surfaced before they headed to Europe to support Agnostic Front and resume their punishing live routine. The next year a split single with Over My Dead Body paved the way for a co-headlining tour shared by the two acts.
