Vision of Disorder arose in Long Island, NY, when guitarists Matt Baumbach and Mike Kennedy assembled the lineup in 1992 alongside vocalist/lyricist Tim Williams, drummer Brendon Cohen, and bassist Mike Fleischmann. The group cultivated a substantial regional audience through its fierce, socially conscious fusion of hardcore and thrash metal, which secured a deal with the Roadrunner Records-distributed Supersoul imprint. Fleischmann departed soon after formation, leaving the band to perform without a bassist; it nevertheless gained notice for its vigorous concerts, prompting his return. A 1995 track on the New York's Hardest compilation, paired with the 7" release Still, marked the first significant exposure. The self-titled debut arrived in 1996, Imprint followed in 1998, and the band resurfaced with For Bleeders in 1999. From Bliss to Devastation surfaced on TVT during summer 2001.
