The Unguided

Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, the five-piece melodic death metal outfit the Unguided came together in 2010 under the direction of Richard Sjunnesson, whose earlier tenure had been spent in the Falkenberg metalcore group Sonic Syndicate. He was later joined by Henric Carlsson on bass from Cipher System, ex-Sonic Syndicate singer Roland Johansson, and guitarist Roger Sjunnesson. Through Despotz Records the band put out its first EP, Nightmareland, at the start of 2011, then delivered the full-length Hell Frost that November on the same imprint. Ahead of its second album, Fragile Immortality, issued in 2014, the group moved to Napalm Records, and two years afterward Lust and Loathing appeared. Shortly after that release, original co-frontman and guitarist Roland Johansson departed; the band returned in 2017 with And the Battle Royale, now featuring vocalist Jonathan Thorpenberg.
