Biography
Thomas Headon burst onto the scene in 2019 when the affably scruffy indie pop tracks “Grace” and “Clean Me Up” circulated widely online, revealing both his gift for melody and his relaxed, youthful appeal. The British-born Australian soon began performing abroad and issued numerous independent singles and EPs, among them the 2021 hit “Dizzy,” a collaboration with fellow bedroom poppers Alfie Templeman and Chloe Moriondo. Warner Bros. later signed him, and his first release for the label was the Victoria EP in 2022.
Born in London on August 17, 2000, Headon lived in the U.K. until his fifth birthday, at which point his family relocated to Australia. During his teenage years in Melbourne he learned to sing and play guitar on his own, drawing inspiration from artists like the 1975, Harry Styles, and Coldplay. His YouTube channel helped him cultivate an audience, and in 2019 he issued “Grace,” a romantic pop song built on a choppy, lo-fi beat and memorable hooks. Together with the follow-up single “Clean Me Up,” the track accumulated millions of streams. He gathered these early recordings on the 2020 EP The Greatest Hits and issued a second EP, The Goodbye, later that same year.
Now living once more in England, Headon toured extensively and reached an even larger audience with the successful 2021 collaboration “Dizzy,” which paired him with British artist Alfie Templeman and Detroit’s Chloe Moriondo. Major labels soon expressed interest, leading him to join the Warner Bros. roster and release the hooky singles “Strawberry Kisses” and “Nobody Has to Know,” both featured on his third EP, Victoria, which appeared in March 2022.
