Biography
Emerging as rap-metal continued its ascent into the 2000s, this seven-piece American group arrived on the scene with an approach steeped in the same brooding intensity that had propelled Limp Bizkit and Papa Roach to commercial peaks. Trik Turner came together in Phoenix, Arizona, during 1999 when vocalists and rappers David (DLB) Bowers (b. 28 May 1973, USA) and Doug (Rid) Moore decided to collaborate. The lineup soon expanded to include Steve Faulkner (b. 15 March 1974, USA; bass), Sean Garden (drums), Danny (DBX) Marquez (b. 10 October 1974; turntables), Tracy (Tre) Thorstad (b. 15 December 1973, USA; guitar), and Cristin Davis (guitar). Their first recording appeared independently in 2000 under the title Black Seas And Brown Trees. After inking a deal with RCA Records the following year, the group brought in veteran heavy metal producer Mudrock to reshape the material. The reworked collection surfaced in March 2002 as Trik Turner.
