Triumph of Death

Honoring Swiss extreme metal legends Hellhammer—who attained near-mythic status in the metal underground despite a brief two-year existence in the early ’80s—Triumph of Death operates as a dedicated tribute ensemble. Led by vocalist/guitarist Tom Gabriel Warrior, who fronted Hellhammer prior to launching the hugely influential Celtic Frost in 1984, the group derives its name from the third track on Hellhammer’s lone studio EP, Apocalyptic Raids. The current roster unites Warrior with André Mathieu on guitar and vocals, Jamie Lee Cussigh on bass, and Tim Iso Wey on drums. In 2023 the quartet issued Resurrection of the Flesh, a concert LP drawn from three shows that year in Houston, Munich, and Portugal.
