Biography
Emerging from the remnants of the eclectic indie-rock group Toenut, Atlanta synth-pop duo Tyro comprises vocalist/keyboardist Katie Hartley and guitarist/keyboardist Skipper Hartley. Following Toenut's dissolution in the late '90s, the Hartleys sequestered themselves in their home studio to capture the core recordings that would shape Audiocards, Tyro's debut album. With final refinements and bass work supplied by Jason Hartley, the album appeared on Mute—Toenut's prior label—in fall 2000.
