Isabelle Rezazadeh records as Rezz. This Juno Award-winning producer and DJ from Niagara Falls, Ontario, specializes in atmospheric electronic music with a shadowy, brooding character. She became a core artist on the Mau5trap imprint during the second half of the 2010s, delivering the full-length projects Mass Manipulation in 2017 and Certain Kind of Magic in 2018. An EP and several prominent singles, among them 2020’s “Someone Else” and “Orbit,” preceded her third album, Spiral, in 2021. After releasing Nightmare on Rezz Street 2 Mix and further singles, her fourth album Can You See Me? appeared in 2024.

Her Ukrainian mother and Iranian father raised her in Ukraine before the family relocated to Canada during her early years. Music drew her interest from childhood, and she developed a passion for EDM after entering Toronto clubs without authorization as a teenager. Rezazadeh began DJing at age 16 and soon taught herself to create dark, minimal productions using online tutorials. Tracks uploaded online attracted notice from Skrillex and Deadmau5; she issued the Insurrection EP on Skrillex’s Nest imprint in 2015, then signed with Deadmau5’s Mau5trap label and debuted on it with the single “Serenity.”

Two 2016 EPs, The Silence Is Deafening in January and Something Is Wrong in October, led to her first full-length, Mass Manipulation, which Mau5trap released in August 2017 and which earned a Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. Certain Kind of Magic followed in 2018 and included collaborations with Deathpact, Kotek, and Fytch. Beyond the Senses, her fourth EP, arrived in July 2019, led by “Falling” featuring Underoath and the solo track “Dark Age,” and became her second release to receive a Juno for Electronic Album of the Year. The following year brought singles such as “Orbit” and the Grabbitz collaboration “Someone Else.” Spiral, her third album, reached listeners in November 2021 and featured PVRIS on “Sacrificial,” Dove Cameron on “Taste of You,” and Fknsyd (Sydney Fisher) on “Let Me In.” She issued Nightmare on Rezz Street 2 Mix in 2022 along with singles including “Suffer in Silence” and “Blue in the Face” in 2023. Can You See Me?, featuring Subtronics, Holly, and Digital Ethos, arrived in 2024.
