Getter

Tanner Petulla, a native of San Jose, California, crafts intensely ferocious dubstep, EDM, and trap as Getter. He entered the world in 1993 and began producing music during high school, placing both original material and self-made remixes of Far East Movement and Timbaland on SoundCloud. Those early uploads quickly secured releases on modest imprints including Ultragore Recordings and Tuff Love Dubs while attracting support from dubstep figures such as Datsik and Flux Pavilion.

Starting in 2012, several Getter EPs surfaced on Firepower Records, Datsik’s label, and Rottun Recordings, Excision’s imprint. Firepower issued his first full project, I Want More, in 2013. The following year brought official Getter remixes for Borgore, Downlink, and Barely Alive. In 2015 he joined Skrillex’s OWSLA roster, delivering the Allegiance EP—home to the single “Head Splitter”—and supplying remixes for other acts on the label. OWSLA followed with two further Getter EPs, Radical Dude! and Wat the Frick, in 2016; that same year the single “Suh Dude” appeared on Borgore’s Buygore imprint, and Getter produced Pouya’s album Underground Underdog.

Getter’s long-awaited debut album, Visceral, finally emerged in 2018 on Mau5trap, showcasing contributions from Allan Kingdom, nothing, nowhere., Joji, and additional guests; the project entered the Top 20 of the Billboard dance/electronic chart.
