Israeli producer Asaf Borger, better known as Borgore, works as both a dubstep producer and vocalist whose irreverent streak led him to compose the track “Act Like a Ho” (“but first do the dishes”). He crafts an abrasive, metal-tinged strain of EDM that he himself labels “gorestep.” Raised in Tel Aviv, Borger started out drumming for the metal group Shabira before shifting, late in the 2000s, to creating original material and remixes under the Borgore alias.

Two 2009 digital mixtapes—Goresteps Most Hated and Ice Cream Mixtape—appeared alongside the EP Gorestep, Vol. 1, while the American imprint Terminal Dusk issued the 12-inch Viridian that same year. His 2010 output, marked by raw lyrics and harsh sonics, lifted his profile further: Ice Cream, carrying “Act Like a Ho” as its B-side, surfaced on Trill Bass; “Birthday and the Black November” landed on Audio Freaks; and the two Borgore Ruined Dubstep volumes became the inaugural releases on his own Buygore label. The following year he delivered a fifth EP, Delicious, while Buygore also hosted material from Tomba, Bare, and Bare Noize.

Sumerian Records put out Filthiest Hits…So Far in 2011, and Borger handled the first disc of Ministry of Sound’s Sound of Dubstep compilation. Buygore issued the 2012 mix album Borgore’s Misadventures in Dubstep, along with assorted singles and EPs that included the Miley Cyrus collaboration “Decisions.” Throughout 2013 and 2014 he continued issuing tracks and remixes, many of them for Spinnin’ Records and Dim Mak. A 2013 single with Waka Flocka Flame, “Wild Out,” reflected the growing trap elements in his sound. Dim Mak released his first full-length production album, #NEWGOREORDER, in July 2014.

Early 2015 brought The Buygore Album, the Addison collaboration “School Daze,” the G-Eazy feature “Forbes,” and the Keep It Sexy EP. Across 2016 he maintained a steady flow of remixes and singles, among them the Barrington Levy joint “Blast Ya.”
