From anonymous online uploads to teaming up with Dillon Francis in a span of roughly two years, the L.A.-based NGHTMRE first drew broader notice through his 2015 single "Street." Sustained by touring and festival dates, the producer has stayed a fixture on the dance circuit, putting out projects such as the 2016 EP NGHTMRE and 2022's UNSOUND.

Tyler Marenyi, who records as NGHTMRE, entered the world in 1990 in Stamford, Connecticut, and grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. Following his finance degree from Elon University, he relocated to L.A. to pursue music full-time. Early efforts consisted of trap and house remixes of material by Tiësto, Rae Sremmurd, and Skrillex; soon after, he issued original material, including joint tracks with Slander. Early 2015 brought the breakthrough single "Street," which Skrillex featured in his headlining Ultra Music Festival performance. Mad Decent signed the artist that year and issued the official version of "Street." His festival bow came via a DJ set at EDC Las Vegas 2015. In 2016 Mad Decent put out both the NGHTMRE EP and the collaborative single "Need You" with Dillon Francis. A follow-up EP, Magic Hour, landed in 2018, the same year NGHTMRE appeared on the Chainsmokers' "Save Yourself." The 2019 single "Bang" paired him with Shaq and Lil Jon. "Feeling Gud," another Slander collaboration, surfaced the next year. Further singles arrived with Galantis, Zomboy, and Smokepurpp before the 2022 EP UNSOUND.
