Dylan Ragland, performing under the name Party Favor, ranks among the leading figures in festival trap. His productions fuse the Southern trap aesthetic with Euro-house textures while incorporating dancehall and pop touches. Breakthrough arrived via the 2014 single “Bap U,” which gained further traction after placements in commercials, films, and video games. The full-length debut Layers appeared in 2019 on his own imprint, and Ragland has since worked alongside Juicy J, A$AP Ferg, Diplo, K.Flay, and additional collaborators. He also launched the house duo Sidepiece alongside Nitti Gritti.

Ragland’s early life unfolded in Park City, Utah, where metal dominated his listening habits before he pursued film studies in California. Following graduation from Chapman University, he and an associate began spinning records in Los Angeles clubs, blending electro with Dutch house in a style that soon led to studio work. The Party Favor persona surfaced in 2013 with the Bomb Squad release Parkin’ Lot Pimpin’. Festival-oriented trap quickly defined his sound, earning him recognition as an emerging EDM talent. Remixes for Showtek and Bro Safari boosted his visibility, prompting additional Bomb Squad singles and an eventual move to Mad Decent.

The single “Bap U” surfaced in 2014 and, after accumulating substantial online streams, landed in a nationwide U.S. television commercial plus the films Vacation and How to Be Single. Worldwide DJ appearances followed, including headline slots at Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Ultra by 2016. That year also brought the tracks “Wiggle Wop,” “G-String,” and “Bust ’Em,” culminating in the Mad Decent EP Party & Destroy, whose guest contributions from Gucci Mane, Dillon Francis, and Sean Kingston drove strong streaming and download performance. Further singles arrived, among them the 2018 Baauer collaboration “MDR” and “Circle Up” featuring Bipolar Sunshine.

April 2019 saw the arrival of Layers on Area 25, housing the single “Wait a Minute” with A$AP Ferg and Juicy J along with appearances from GTA, Graves, KingJet, Rich the Kid, Lil Baby, and others. Sidepiece debuted the same year with the Diplo-assisted “On My Mind,” issued via Higher Ground. The 2020 schedule included the guest-free album The Isolation Album and the Fresh Laundry EP spotlighting Georgia Ku and Yung Pinch. 2021 yielded the standalone cuts “Save Me” and “Losing My Mind” with Elohim, while 2022 brought the K.Flay collaboration “Superhuman.” Sidepiece continued issuing material on FFRR, including the track “Sextacy.”
