Formed in Chicago during 2007 by Curt Cameruci (aka Autobot) and Josh Young (aka J2K), Flosstradamus quickly earned recognition for its intense beats and leadership in the emerging trap dance sound. The duo launched the venture through a run of local DJ events that fused electro, house, minimal techno, and sleazy R&B into unpredictable sets; news of these nights traveled fast by word of mouth, resulting in instant sell-outs. Throughout the middle of the decade the monthly gathering remained a major attraction, drawing visitors from across the country to witness the performances firsthand. Official recording activity began in 2011 when the Jubilation EP appeared on Fool's Gold. Two years later the Total Recall EP surfaced via Jeffree's, an imprint of Mad Decent, before the project moved to Ultra for the 2015 release Soundclash. Hdynation Radio arrived shortly afterward and included contributions from GTA, Lil Jon, Waka Flocka Flame, and additional guests. Young stepped away from the project at the close of 2016, leaving Cameruci to carry on alone under the Flosstradamus name. Early the following year Cameruci dropped "Back Again," a collaboration with Mayhem and Waka Flocka Flame, then issued the Cara Salimando-assisted single "How You Gon' Do That" during summer 2017.
