Biography
Originally formed in Birmingham, Alabama, Vulture Whale emerged from an earlier lineup called Wes McDonald & the Fizz. McDonald, previously of the Ohms, joined forces with Lester Nuby of Verbena along with Keelan Parrish and Jake Waitzman; the musicians soon concluded they functioned as equal partners rather than a frontman backed by sidemen, prompting the adoption of their current name. Under this new identity they cut a self-titled debut that appeared in 2007. Their second album, likewise self-titled, followed in February 2009 via Skybucket Records.
