Wishy unites Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites in an indie pop project that merges dream pop, alt-rock, shoegaze, and noise pop through 1990s-inspired textures. The pair shares lead vocal responsibilities and expands the core lineup with a second guitarist plus a rhythm section for the ten-track full-length debut Triple Seven, which arrived via Winspear in August 2024.

The two first encountered each other as high school students in Indianapolis, though their friendship developed only later when each was already performing in separate local indie pop acts. Throughout the late 2010s and early 2020s, Krauter produced noisy lo-fi pop both with the short-lived band Hoops and in solo releases, while Pitchkites recorded her own atmospheric material under the name Push Pop. After she relocated back to Indianapolis in early 2021 from a period spent in Philadelphia, the musicians balanced day jobs and began working together under several temporary names while testing different sonic directions. They settled on the Wishy identity in late 2022 with a fuzzy, hook-driven approach rooted in those 1990s reference points and soon signed to the Winspear label. Their first release, the self-produced Mana EP, appeared in June 2023. In subsequent sessions with co-producer, engineer, and mixer Ben Lumsdaine—previously credited on recordings by Amy O and Major Murphy—they captured twenty-one songs. Five of them comprised the Paradise EP issued that December, and the remaining ten formed Triple Seven.
