WurlD

Originating from Nigeria yet based in Atlanta, the singer and songwriter WurlD crafts an electro-fusion blend of expansive R&B and Afro-pop. Late in the 2010s he attracted attention through numbers such as "Show You Off" and "Wishes and Butterflies," both featured on the 2019 EP Love Is Contagious that Shizzi produced. His visibility increased again with the joint release I Love Girls with Trobul, recorded alongside fellow Nigerian Sarz. Following the Afrosoul EP in 2020, he issued his first full-length project, the 2022 album My WorlD with U.

Born Sadiq Onifade in Lagos, WurlD relocated to the United States during his teenage years and enrolled at Georgia State University in Atlanta. There his creative work expanded, yielding the debut single "Beyond Our Dreams" in 2012 and the initial EP Evolution the next year. Subsequent collaborations brought songwriting credits with Mario and BK Brasco, plus a Polish chart success in 2015 via the Gromee-assisted track "Follow You." Further notice arrived in 2016 with "Show You Off," a cut uniting Walshy Fire of Major Lazer and producer Shizzi. The year 2019 stood out when Love Is Contagious appeared alongside the Sarz partnership I Love Girls with Trobul, and WurlD also supplied co-writing for Davido’s Chris Brown-featured single "Blow My Mind."

Entering the following decade he stayed active, scoring a streaming success with "Ghost Town" on the 2020 EP Afrosoul before unveiling the debut album My WorlD with U in 2022.
