Biography
Deriving their moniker from the notion of traversing dimensions across space and time, xikers fuse high-energy dance pop with hip-hop and reggaeton textures. The South Korean boy band entered the scene in 2023 via the HOUSE OF TRICKY : Doorbell Ringing EP, which climbed to number four on the Circle Album Chart, reached the Top Five domestically, and landed at 75 on the Billboard 200. Later that year they returned to the South Korean Top Ten with HOUSE OF TRICKY : HOW TO PLAY, then issued both HOUSE OF TRICKY : Trial and Error and HOUSE OF TRICKY : WATCH OUT in 2024.
KQ Entertainment assembled the ten-member lineup in 2022. It comprises leader/rapper Minjae, dancer/vocalist Junmin, rapper Sumin, vocalist Jinsik, vocalist Hyunwoo, vocalist Junghoon, vocalist Seeun, vocalist Yujun, dancer/vocalist Hunter, and dancer/rapper/vocalist Yechan. During their trainee period under the agency they operated as KQ Fellaz, documenting their development through the web series Ready to One and unveiling two video songs that year, “Greek” and “Canvas.” They also participated in The Player: KPOP Quest. The collective subsequently adopted the name xikers—a fusion of “x,” denoting a coordinate on a map, and “hikers,” signifying “space hikers.” Their first EP, HOUSE OF TRICKY : Doorbell Ringing, surfaced in March 2023, peaking at number four on the Circle Album Chart and 75 on the Billboard 200 while yielding the singles “TRICKY HOUSE” and “ROCKSTAR.” That August a follow-up, HOUSE OF TRICKY : How to Play, again attained the number-four slot on the Circle chart.
March 2024 brought the third EP, HOUSE OF TRICKY : Trial and Error, whose single “We Don’t Stop” rose to number two in South Korea and topped Billboard’s World Albums chart. In September the quartet delivered their fourth mini-album, HOUSE OF TRICKY : WATCH OUT, spotlighting the track “WITCH.”
