Biography
German pop trio Yoomiii launched their career during the spring of 2006. Kristin Siegel, Nina Alexandra Filipp, and Bouchra Nisha Tjon Pon Fong joined the Na Klar roster, an imprint of BMG Berlin. The three women immediately faced an intensive regimen of photo sessions, television slots, dance rehearsals, and repeated conversations with Germany’s youth-focused media outlets. This accelerated training prepared the emerging artists for the industry while simultaneously shaping the market’s readiness for them. European teens already recognized the Yoomiii name by the time their debut single, “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme,” reached radio. The track entered the German chart at number 14 on May 6, 2006, and reached the Top Five in both Austria and Switzerland. Their first album, Here We Are, achieved comparable success, securing a national Top 20 placement while performing more strongly in neighboring territories. Follow-up single “A Kiss Is All I Miss” maintained several weeks inside the Top 50. Yoomiii concluded the year with a nationwide tour and the issuance of their inaugural DVD, then opened 2007 by releasing the single “Rhythm of Love,” which built anticipation for the May 2007 arrival of sophomore album Let the Music Play. The group disbanded shortly afterward, rendering the record their final release.
