Young Money

Affiliated with Lil Wayne and the Cash Money record label, the rap collective Young Money reached the marketplace in 2009 after multiple years of mixtape releases. Lil Wayne guides the outfit, whose lineup remains quite changeable and features Drake, Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda, Mack Maine, Nicki Minaj, Lil Chuckee, and Lil' Twist, along with additional participants. In 2009 the group issued its first single, "Every Girl," and its debut album, We Are Young Money, through Cash Money in tandem with Universal Music. Though word of a second album surfaced from the crew late in 2012, the Cash Money label instead dropped the single "Tapout" the following year via a closely parallel crew with shifting personnel, Rich Gang. Lil Wayne, Mack Maine, and Nicki Minaj of Young Money all appeared on the track alongside Birdman and Future.
