Biography
Philadelphia's synth-infused, peppy rock act Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer formed in 2000 around the nucleus of Vince Ratti on guitar and vocals alongside Rachel Minton handling vocals and keyboards. An earlier lineup also featured Anthony Green, who went on to front the post-hardcore outfits Saosin and Circa Survive. The group issued its debut self-titled album through Wonka Vision/Break Even Records. Eyeball Records took notice after a 2002 performance shared with My Chemical Romance, leading to a label deal that brought forth Jalopy Go Far in 2003 followed by The Popsicle EP in 2004. A self-released collection of tracks appeared in 2005, after which the band spent that summer touring alongside Reel Big Fish and American Hi-Fi. In February 2007 Reignition Records put out the split EP Duet All Night Long pairing Zolof with Reel Big Fish. At that stage the lineup had expanded to include drummer Rinaldo Sidky, bassist Matt Celeste, and guitarist/handclapper Jason Wilson.
