Biography
The 1990 single "Wiggle It" brought 2 in a Room its widest recognition, as the act briefly ranked among the foremost blends of hip-hop and dance music. Rafael "Dose" Vargas, who performed as rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer, conceived the project; tracks such as "Do What You Want" and the debut album Wiggle It secured him extensive radio play along with measured critical praise. Teaming with rapper Elvin "Floodlight" Ovalles, 2 in a Room issued the singles "El Trago (The Drink)" and "Ahora (Now)," followed by the 1995 album World Party and the 1996 single "Carnival." Those later releases attained moderate success yet never reached the level of the group’s prior work, after which the act disbanded.
