Biography
Eurodisco enigma Haddaway first gained notice through his insistent 1993 club hit "What Is Love." Born in Trinidad and raised in Cologne, Germany, the performer later settled in Monaco, where details of his background remain scarce. His self-titled 1993 debut album introduced the track that became an immediate success and later resurfaced in popular culture via repeated appearances in a recurring Saturday Night Live sketch, which in turn inspired the 1998 comedy film A Night at the Roxbury. During this period Haddaway released two further albums, 1996's The Drive and 1998's Let's Do It Now, though neither matched the impact of his opening effort.
