Tommaso de Donatis and Orhan Terzi shaped their DJ Quicksilver venture through a blend of energetic, processed disco grooves and tentative ventures into emotive trance, positioning the act as one of Germany’s leading semi-clandestine audience favorites. Material appeared on Avex Trax, Positiva, Telstar, Edel, Alphabet City, and Sub Terranean, with the duo taking their name from a mercury-based meter used to estimate crowd size at an early DJ event. Recognition centered on the Vengaboys-style impact of 1999’s “Bellissima,” the Shaggy-sampled “Boombastic” single, remix contributions for Ian Van Dahl and Faithless, and a pared-down interpretation of the Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony.”
