DJ Jean

Having secured the top prize at the 1989 Dutch ‘Mix and Scratch' championships, Jan Engelaar—better known as DJ Jean and born May 7, 1968, in Veenendaal—began working as a house music DJ in 1991. Two hit singles, "I'll Be Right There" and "Let Yourself Go," appeared by 1997. A weekly engagement started in 1999 at the Dutch club iT, where his Friday-night program ran under the name MadHouse. Further singles emerged later, among them "The Launch," together with several mix CDs. Extensive performances across much of Europe and China occupied the DJ throughout 2007.
