DJ Sammy, the Spanish disc jockey and producer, first entered entertainment by taking a position at a nearby techno/house radio outlet. Once he earned his sound-technician qualification, he cut the track “Life Is Just a Game” in 1996. The next year his song “Prince of Love” rose on the German charts. His 1999 debut album Life Is Just a Game spotlighted the hit single “In 2 Eternity,” and he also oversaw production on Loona’s inaugural release. In 2002 a cover of Bryan Adams’ “Heaven” became a major success; the album Heaven surfaced the same year and anchored Sammy in Euro-dance. The 2005 set The Rise steered toward trance, while a 2007 version of R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts” signaled a return to Euro-dance. In 2013 he joined pop act the Jackie Boyz on the single “Shut Up and Kiss Me.”
