House music figure DJ Antoine achieved extraordinary commercial dominance within Switzerland, where his full-length projects routinely entered the upper reaches of the album rankings and sometimes claimed the summit position. Born Antoine Konrad and residing in Basel, he first gained traction on the local club circuit in the middle of the 1990s after launching the dance venue House Café. His initial single, “Sound of My Life,” arrived in 1997, followed the next year by his earliest compilation, The Pumpin’ House Mix. Most of the 12-inch EPs he placed on imprints including Clubstar and Work Records were created jointly with Mad Mark, whose birth name is Fabio Antoniali.

Widespread recognition arrived for the producer in 2000 via the compilation Houseworks 01, a Top 20 success that marked his maiden appearance on the national albums tally, and again that same year through Mainstation, another DJ mix that climbed into the Top Ten. Across the following seasons he maintained a consistent output of projects—alternating between curated mixes and original productions—nearly all of which landed inside the Top Ten. The 2005 mix The Black Album became the first of his releases to reach the number-one slot. His studio albums issued in 2009, 2010, and 2011 likewise each occupied the top position.

The 2011 track “Welcome to St. Tropez” emerged as a major club success and moved more than a million units. Sky Is the Limit, released in 2013 and featuring the chart-topping single “Bella Vita,” headed the Swiss album list, as did its 2014 successor We Are the Party. A 2015 partnership with Akon yielded the single “Holiday,” which later appeared on the 2016 album Provocateur; that project also incorporated guest contributions from Jay Sean and Eric Lumaire.
