Of Italian heritage, Swedish EDM producer and DJ Sebastian Ingrosso built an extensive body of original tracks alongside remixes for acts from Moby through Justin Timberlake. Recognition nevertheless centered on his work alongside Steve Angello and Axwell within the dance supergroup Swedish House Mafia. Early 2000s singles blended electro, disco, and house elements before the more pop-leaning output of Swedish House Mafia propelled him into mainstream visibility, yielding multi-platinum global successes such as “Save the World” and “Don’t You Worry Child.” Further chart entries in the same vein included “Calling (Lose My Mind)” and “Reload.” Following the 2013 disbandment of Swedish House Mafia, the Axwell /\ Ingrosso partnership sustained momentum with releases like “Sun Is Shining” and “More Than You Know.” The original trio reconvened in 2018, issuing their first official studio album, Paradise Again, in 2022; Ingrosso and Angello subsequently resumed joint singles, among them 2024’s “Skip.”

Years spent as an underground tech-house artist preceded these developments. Ingrosso launched Refune Music in 2003 and placed material on Joia Records and Executive Records before scoring his initial major success in 2005 with the Axwell collaboration “Together,” which secured a major-label license. Additional 2007 hits followed—“Get Dumb” (also credited to Axwell, Angello, and Laidback Luke), “It’s True” (also credited to Axwell), and “Umbrella” (also credited to Angello)—along with a contribution to the Ministry of Sound Sessions mix series.

Swedish House Mafia was formally established by Ingrosso, Axwell, and Angello in late 2008 as a pop-focused project. The 2009 single “Leave the World Behind,” credited to the individual producers and featuring Laidback Luke and vocalist Deborah Cox, became a hit. Their first compilation, Until One, arrived in 2010 as a continuous mix of solo and collective productions. Ingrosso teamed with Alesso and Ryan Tedder for the 2012 hit “Calling (Lose My Mind),” while “Reload,” recorded with Tommy Trash and Swedish vocalist John Martin, achieved even greater impact; both tracks appeared on the follow-up compilation Until Now. In 2013 the trio supplied the track “Roar” to the Monsters University soundtrack, embarked on the One Last Tour, and entered hiatus.

Axwell /\ Ingrosso operated officially as a duo from 2014 onward, releasing several hits highlighted by the Swedish chart-topper “Sun Is Shining.” Ingrosso issued the harder-edged 2016 single “FLAGS!” featuring LIOHN and Salvatore Ganacci. The debut Axwell /\ Ingrosso album, More Than You Know, followed in 2017, its title track another substantial success. “Dancing Alone” surfaced in 2018 before the pair paused activity for Swedish House Mafia’s return. After a 2019 reunion tour, new singles emerged in 2021, among them the major hit “Moth to a Flame” with the Weeknd. Paradise Again, their first proper studio album, appeared in 2022 alongside a world tour and a subsequent 2023 Latin American tour. Ingrosso and Angello released the 2023 single “U OK?” with Parisi, then delivered “Skip” in 2024.
