Australian duo Nervo first drew widespread attention through their songwriting partnership on David Guetta and Kelly Rowland’s Grammy-winning “When Love Takes Over,” later issuing their 2015 debut album Collateral and sustaining club momentum with later singles such as “People Grinnin” in 2016, “Best Friend” with Sofie Tucker in 2017, and “Gotta Be with You” featuring Carla Monroe in 2021. The Melbourne-born twin sisters Miriam and Olivia Nervo began their careers as teenage models yet soon redirected their energies toward songwriting and production. Their earliest significant placement arrived in 2005 on Rachel Stevens’ “Negotiate with Love,” which reached number ten on the U.K. singles chart.

A few years afterward they supplied material for David Guetta and Kelly Rowland’s “When Love Takes Over,” a track that ascended to the summit of Billboard’s U.S. club chart and also dominated mainstream pop listings across several European and Scandinavian territories. The song earned a 2009 Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. While continuing to accumulate outside credits, the sisters began releasing their own material under the Nervo name. Their 2012 single “Like Home,” which included Nicky Romero, climbed to number 33 in the United Kingdom, and 2013’s “Hold On” topped the U.S. dance chart. “Haute Mess” followed in 2014 and peaked at number five.

Collateral, the duo’s first full-length project, surfaced in 2015 and yielded three further U.S. dance-chart entries inside the top five—“Let It Go,” “Bulletproof,” and “The Other Boys,” the last a collaboration with Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears, and Nile Rodgers that reached number one. Toward the end of 2016 they issued “People Grinnin,” another chart-topping release. Early the next year they unveiled the singles “In Your Arms” and “Lost in You,” both recorded with Quintino, and appeared on Sofie Tucker’s “Best Friend.” Subsequent standalone tracks included 2018’s “Emotional” featuring Ryann, 2019’s “Faded” with Skazi, and 2020’s “Goddess” alongside Krewella and Raja Kumari, before “Gotta Be with You” featuring Carla Monroe arrived in 2021.
