Biography
Felix Jaehn, a Hamburg native born in 1994, began his musical journey with classical violin lessons before shifting focus to DJing during his teenage years. He spent a short period at London’s Point Blank Music College around 2011, then returned home to establish himself in the local scene. Early singles such as the 2014 track “Dance with Me” with Thallie Ann Seenyen and “Shine” alongside Freddy Verano and Linying earned positive notice, yet it was his 2015 remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader” that propelled him to global attention. The reggae-tinged dance number climbed to the top of charts in dozens of countries. That same year, his rework of Jasmine Thompson’s “Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better),” itself a cover of Rufus & Chaka Khan’s original, delivered another worldwide success. Partnering with vocalist Mark Forster as the duo Eff, Jaehn scored a three-week run at number one on the German singles chart with their debut release, “Stimme.”
A proponent of atmospheric yet pop-driven house, Jaehn rose amid the mid-2010s tropical-house wave, crafting uplifting productions that blended deep-house, soul, funk, pop, and reggae elements. His multi-platinum successes, among them the OMI remix and the Rufus & Chaka Khan reinterpretation, appeared on his Polydor-issued debut album, I, released in 2018. The project was introduced by the single “Like a Riddle” featuring Hearts & Colors and Adam Trigger. In 2016 he issued “Can’t Go Home” with Steve Aoki and Adam Lambert plus “Bonfire” with ALMA; the following year brought fresh versions of “Dance with Me” (featuring Thallie Ann Seenyen) and “Hot2Touch” (with Hight and Alex Aiono).
Further singles arrived in 2019, including “Love on Myself” with Calum Scott and “Close Your Eyes,” a collaboration with Vize and Miss Li that peaked at number 21 in Germany. Between 2020 and 2021, additional tracks such as the Top 40 entries “No Therapy” (featuring Nea and Bryn Christopher), “When the Lights Are Low” (with Toby Romeo and Faulhaber), and “One More Time” (with Robin Schulz featuring Alida) preceded his second full-length, Breathe, which surfaced in October 2021. Chart activity continued in 2022 with “Rain in Ibiza” (featuring the Stickmen Project and Calum Scott) and “Do It Better” (featuring Zoe Wees), while “Call It Love” with Ray Dalton resonated across multiple territories. In 2023 Jaehn unveiled “All for Love” featuring Sandro Cavazza and joined Jonas Blue for the singles “Weekends” and “Past Life.” Stand-alone releases followed in 2024, among them “Waking Up” with Leony and “Ready for Your Love” featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
