Sander Kleinenberg moves between sparse, dark trance and uplifting, deep house during his DJ sets while constantly traveling worldwide to perform at prominent clubs and crafting tracks that appear across countless compilations. The Hague, Holland, is where he was born and grew up, absorbing early influences from the American beats of Mantronix along with the remix work of Shep Pettibone and Jellybean Benitez, combined with the pop stylings of Depeche Mode. At fifteen he launched his DJ career modestly by playing requests at a neighborhood bar near his house, an experience that sparked his interest in creating original productions. In 1996 the track "Y.D.W. (You Do Me Wrong)" appeared under his S'n'S alias as one of the rare European releases on the American house label Strictly Rhythm. Junior Vasquez, Deep Dish, and Danny Tenaglia offered early support, and his connection with the Combined record label produced a series of 12"s. Fans built a devoted following by collecting every version of his 4 Seasons EP, yet the breakthrough arrived with the 2000 release of the My Lexicon 12", which elevated his profile. His Tranceglobal Airways mix CD came packaged with the October 2000 edition of Muzik magazine, while his productions featured on multiple entries in the ultrapopular Global Underground series. During 2001 he delivered a successful remix of Röyksopp's "Poor Leno" and received Muzik's Best Radio 1 Essential Mix award. The Essential Mix CD arrived in 2002, after which he contributed to the Global Underground: NuBreed series and, the following year, supplied another mix for Thrive titled Renaissance Presents Everybody.
