Toronto serves as home base for EDM DJ Frank Walker, whose output fuses yearning and melancholy into dance-pop centered on prominent vocals and striking melodies. Multiple singles arrived across the 2010s, accompanied by remixes for Kesha and Marshmello, before breakthrough success arrived via the Juno-nominated 2019 release “Only When It Rains.” Platinum certification in Canada greeted the 2020 track “Like Gold,” recorded with Loud Luxury and Stephen Puth, while further hits followed, among them 2023’s “I Go Dancing” featuring Ella Henderson.

Walker is the child of Canadian business executives Donald J. Walker and Belinda Stronach. Business studies at the University of Western Ontario gave way to a music career once his degree was complete. College-era experiments with progressive and big room house led to the 2014 debut of his podcast series Reflections. After completing several remixes, original releases began in 2016 with the Nocturnal EP. Two instrumentals appeared on that project, yet lead single “All I Want” introduced an urgent dance-pop approach that shaped Walker’s later catalog. Singles “Toes” and “Run with the Real” preceded the 2017 arrival of the 24 EP, which prioritized radio-ready material over club tracks. Kygo’s worldwide Kids in Love tour provided support slots, and the 2018 single “Heartbreak Back” featuring Riley Biederer registered on Canadian Top 40 radio.

A collaboration with Astrid S, “Only When It Rains” charted in Canada and Norway and earned a 2020 Juno Awards nomination for Dance Recording of the Year. The 2020 release “More Than OK” with R3hab and Clara Mae peaked at number 22 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Later that year “Imagine” appeared alongside Steve Aoki and AJ Mitchell, while “Like Gold” secured its Canadian platinum award. Walker’s strongest 2021 offerings included “Shadows” with Sophie Simmons and Nevada plus “Feel Like Us Again” with Amber Van Day. Two Feet joined him on the 2022 single “Day by Day,” Sam Feldt and Zak Abel appeared on “Madness,” and Richard Judge featured on “Dance on My Own.” 2023’s “I Go Dancing” with Ella Henderson became one of Walker’s largest radio successes, followed by further singles “Waiting” with Stephen Puth, “Something in the Way” with Forester, and “Good in Goodbye” with Trivecta.
