Biography
The pop-punk outfit 22 Jacks came together under the leadership of Joe Sib, previously the frontman of Wax, alongside guitarist Steve Soto, who had previously played with both the Adolescents and Agent Orange. In the closing months of 1995, the band laid down tracks for their first release, the 1996 album Uncle Bob, enlisting guitarist Jason Cropper, bassist Scott Shiflett, and drummer Sandy Hansen for the sessions; those three musicians departed once the album was finished. Replacing them with guitarist Bill Fraenza, bassist Kelly Lemieux, and drummer Jose Medeles, 22 Jacks embarked on tour and subsequently reentered the studio to produce their 1998 follow-up Overserved. The album Going North arrived the next year.
