Biography
Formed in South London by Sam Hatchwell, the alternative/dream pop collective A House in the Trees took shape in the U.K. as a collaborative project. Recognition came for the group’s signature sound—reverb-laced guitar leads, trip-hop-infused beats, and ethereal vocal performances—heard on tracks such as "Summertime" and "Tuesday Afternoon." The members first assembled in early 2017, regularly developing and recording material at a space inside the Rising Sun pub in London’s New Cross district. They soon issued the singles "Summertime" and "Tuesday Afternoon," both of which included vocals from Lucinda John-Duarte of the London-based alt-outfit Alaskalaska. Later that year the collective released its debut EP, What Am I Supposed to Do?, on Handsome Dad Records.
