Biography
Alex Beaupain, a singer and songwriter admired for sharp lyrics and melancholic romantic ballads, has risen to prominence in France, his home country, through repeated partnerships with daring director Christophe Honoré. Their first joint project came in 2002 on the feature 17 Fois Cécile Cassard, where Beaupain supplied the entire soundtrack and included a composition created expressly for vocalist Lily Margot. He and Margot later reunited for the 2003 Gilles Marchand film Qui a Tué Bambi. Beaupain issued his album Garcon D'Honneur in 2005, a collection that revealed his affinity for French chanson figures such as Serge Gainsbourg and Etienne Daho alongside 1980s alternative rock bands like the Smiths. He rejoined Honoré for the 2006 picture Dans Paris and again in 2007 on the expansive musical Les Chansons D'Amour.
