Biography
Born in Picary on December 14, 1970, Albin de la Simone works as a French pianist, composer, and performer. While he has built his strongest reputation through partnerships with established figures including Vanessa Paradis, Feist, Mathieu Boogaerts, and Salif Keita, he has also issued several solo albums. His debut long-player, Albin de la Simone, appeared in 2003. Two years later came the follow-up Je Vais Changer, which earned him a Prix Constantin nomination; a tour ensued. Between late 2005 and early 2006 he withdrew to Bali in search of fresh ideas for his next project. Although the resulting recordings would not surface immediately, he remained active by contributing to the soundtrack of the nature documentary Symphony Animale and by supporting Vanessa Paradis on her 2007 tour. The Bali material finally reached listeners in spring 2008 under the title Bungalow!, after which he spent the remainder of the year on the road promoting the record.
