Alexander Kowalski

Having relocated to Berlin in the early 1990s and immersed himself in techno, producer Alexander Kowalski forged ties with the Tresor collective, which soon led to solo releases on Heiko Laux’s Kanzleramt label. The young artist earned widespread acclaim for his 1999 Tresor output issued as DisX3 and Double X, with further recognition following from his work on Sender Berlin’s unGleich imprint. That same year he launched his own-name series on Kanzleramt with the Live EP, a recording that demonstrated his command of live performance. In 2001 Kowalski appeared live at the Sonar festival while Kanzleramt issued his debut full-length, Echoes. A second album, Progress, arrived on the label in 2002 after an EP of the identical title had already surfaced.
