Biography
Hailing from Philadelphia, the flamboyant dirty rapper Amanda Blank maintains close ties to Spank Rock along with connections to the Baltimore club scene. Born Amanda Mallory, she first gained national attention in 2006 through her guest spot on “Bump,” taken from Spank Rock’s widely praised album YoYoYoYoYo (2006). That same year she appeared prominently on Bmore Gutter Music (2006), the full-length DJ mix issued by Aaron LaCrate of Milkcrate Records and Lowbudget of Hollertronix. Her link to Spank Rock grew stronger in 2007 when she guested on “Loose” from the Spank Rock and Benny Blanco Are... Bangers & Cash EP. Also in 2007 she contributed to Pase Rock’s “Sexy Motherfucker,” which appeared on the Lindsay Lohan's Revenge 12" release, and to the Eli Escobar and Doug Grayson remix of Britney Spears’ “Gimmie More.” After signing with Downtown she cut her debut album, I Love You, enlisting production from Spank Rock’s XXXChange, Diplo, and Switch; the lead single “Might Like You Better” arrived ahead of the July 2009 street date. Beyond her rap work, Blank serves as lead singer for the indie pop/rock group Sweatheart.
