Kreayshawn

Having been born Natassia Zolot, the rapper and director residing in San Francisco, California, performs under the professional moniker Kreayshawn. As the daughter of Elka Zolot, guitarist in the celebrated Bay Area garage-punk ensemble the Trashwomen, she launched her music career after completing studies at the Berkeley Digital Film Institute, where she helmed videos for Lil B, widely known as the Based God. The MC next pursued solo projects by issuing the mixtapes Kittys x Choppas in 2010 and Kreayshawn x the Mob in 2011, which built her standing as the "female Lil B" ahead of broader notice from the single "Gucci Gucci," prompting a contract with Columbia Records.
