Biography
Fronted by Finnish-born vocalist and keyboardist Elina Siirala, the symphonic metal group Angel Nation makes its home in London. Having received classical instruction early in life, Siirala moved to the British capital in 2008 to advance her vocal training and launched the project under the name EnkeliNation—Finnish for Angel Nation—in 2011. During those formative years Siirala experimented with shifting personnel while refining a richly melodic style that blended power-metal drive with classical elements and built a presence within the city’s rock circuit. The ensemble issued its first full-length album, Tears of Lust, in 2014 under the EnkeliNation moniker, performed at Bloodstock festival, and completed several U.K. tours. Midway through work on the next record the members opted to adopt the English rendering of the band’s name. October 2017 therefore saw the release of their second album, Aeon, now credited to Angel Nation.
