Biography
Apologies, I Have None came together in 2008 through long-term friends Dan Bond on guitar and vocals alongside Josh McKenzie handling drums, guitar, and vocals, just as the U.K. pop-punk revival driven by You Me at Six and Kids in Glass Houses was gaining momentum. Taking cues from U.S. acts like the Gaslight Anthem and Against Me!, their initial material blended acoustic and electric guitars, beginning with the self-recorded 2009 demo Two Sticks and Six Strings. In 2010 the lineup grew to include permanent drummer Joe Watson and bassist PJ Shepherd, prompting a full shift to electric guitars that, paired with their lo-fi aesthetic, produced a harder-edged tone. This evolution drew interest from listeners seeking alternatives within the dominant Kerrang!-sanctioned U.K. rock landscape. Their debut album London arrived in 2012, followed by extensive touring across the U.K. and Europe that year, highlighted by sets at the Reading and Leeds festivals. In 2013 they supported BoySetsFire on U.K. dates, after which Dan Bond departed and the group carried on as a trio.
